MY MUSIC MISCELLANY

Articles
My first gig in NYC (and what has to be the world's most concise, five-syllable quote) are
mentioned in this Kansas City Star article
This Kansas City Star guest column by wonderful pianist Paul Smith describes an
especially gratifying gig I was on
From down beat magazine. Anyone ever heard of that young organ player who also
submitted his own profile? One of us went on to an amazing music career ...
Man what a night. This Kansas City Times article mentions my solo on "When The Saints
Go Marchin' In" but the real high for me was trading solos on "That Old Black Magic" with
    Bobby McFerrin — "The Voice."

Eddie Oyer
Eddie was my first music teacher. I still remember my first lesson: May 27, 1972
My good friend Tom Giovagnoli took this shot of
my drums nearly 25 years ago. I've always
loved it. Very artsy ...
Dr. Menghini and I laugh easily together, even on
stage during my commencement speech this July.
Another artsy shot I like. This one by Andrea
Fischman, who was shooting the party I played
with Warren Vache in early 2007.
