Partners

No person toils alone.
An achiever who claims “self-made” roots deceives only himself. Even the
simplest of lives is tied inextricably to others through countless moments =
of
partnership. Those partnerships may be measured by the clock, as when a
stranger helps to change a tire, or by the calendar, as when two people of
vision create a lasting enterprise. To seek accomplishment on one’s own is =
to
miss the joy of encounter. It is the wise person who seeks the encounter, t=
he partnership
of another who understands that if I give you an idea, and you give me an i=
dea,
then we each have two ideas. Partnership breeds ideas, and ideas create our
world. The prosperous life is marked by the willingness of one person to be=
a
partner to others, and to know when to graciously accept the partnership of
another.
